Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
COVID-19 has overwhelmed hospital systems and other inpatient settings, leading to a surge in demand for critical care nurses. As of early 2021, more than 75% of intensive care hospital beds were occupied nationwide, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.* Adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioners play a pivotal role in treating adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients diagnosed with coronavirus and other complex illnesses.
Hawai‘i Pacific University’s MSN-AGACNP students develop their specialization in acute care through hands-on learning in applied practice, with a focus on caring for vulnerable, at-risk populations. Under the guidance of HPU’s expert faculty, you’ll be exposed to a wide array of inpatient and specialty care services in medical and reconstructive surgery, operating room care, surgical intensive care, internal medicine, and ambulatory care, among others.
