Family Nurse Practitioner Program
The United States is predicted to face a shortage of between 54,100 and 139,000 physicians, in both primary and specialty care areas, by 2033.* This shortage is worse in rural communities, where more than 50 million people live but only 9% of the nation's physicians practice. The imbalance between number of patients and available doctors has created an unprecedented demand for nurse practitioners.
The online BSN-DNP with a concentration in family medicine at Hawai‘i Pacific University prepares you to skillfully and confidently operate at the highest levels of family nursing practice. You’ll be immersed in our philosophy of holistic care across culturally diverse communities, preparing you to work more effectively with all populations. Additionally, as a DNP-credentialed nurse you’ll have the understanding and preparation to work effectively in nurse leadership roles.
Note: Upon completion of our BSN to DNP program, the DNP degree will be awarded. This program does not lead to the MSN degree.
